Obituary

Bruce Gilbert Fryer
Bruce G. Fryer, Age 88, returned to the arms of our Lord on March 8, 2017.
Mr. Fryer was born in Orange, New Jersey and spent his early years there. Bruce started working in April of 1948 for Automatic Switch Company of Florham Park in its machine shop. During his employment at ASCO he worked in many capacities including, machinist, toolmaker, supervisor and manager. He retired from ASCO after 38 years of employment in 1986 as Traffic & Packaging Manager.
Bruce started to spend winters in Florida in the late 80’s and in 2000 he moved to Lake Worth, Florida, where he met the love of his life Debbie. In 2006 he moved to the Spruce Creek Golf and Country Club in Summerfield, Florida where he resided with his wife Debbie.
Bruce was a Member of the Masonic Fraternity for 55 years and a past Master of Livingston Lodge # 11 F&AM, he served as Worshipful Master of West Orange Lodge # 205 F&AM in 1969. He was a Member of the American Legion Post No. 347 in The Villages, Florida and was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans, Post No. 85 in Belleview, Florida.
Bruce proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Between those enlistments he served for three years in the 21st Infantry Battalion, U. S. Marine Corps Reserve in Dover, New Jersey.
He is survived by his beloved wife Deborah; his daughter, Jennifer Fryer; his son, Charles Fryer; his sisters, Louise Johnston and June Herka; his grandchildren, Jessica, Richard and Kristen Neiderhaus; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in New Jersey, Florida and Georgia.
Bruce was pre-deceased by his brothers Robert Charles Fryer and Richard Fryer.
Services will be held at Par-Troy Funeral Home, Lake Parsippany, New Jersey and his final resting place will be at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, New Jersey.
