We have so many years of memories with Keith. I'll always laugh when I remember his "flying bird" thing he did with his hand. He would land that thing on your head, your shoulder, or anywhere irritating. Hilarious!
God promises in 1 Corinthians 9 that "No eye has seen, nor ear heard, no mind can understand the things God has in store for those who love Him". We cannot earn righteousness but God has given his grace by Jesus dying for our sins and paying the penalty. If we believe and trust Him, "He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and and cleanse us from all unrighteousness". (1 Jn 1:9)
I'm so grateful that we can't earn our way by being "a good person"! Can you imagine HOW good you would have to BE to earn your way??? No one would make it on their own merit. Be not deceived! God is Holy and cannot commune with sin. The only way was for Jesus to take our place. 1 Cor 5:21 says that "God took him (Jesus) who knew no sin, to become sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of Him, in Christ Jesus". It's the ultimate "swap" - my sin for His purity!
The Bible says choose this day whom you shall serve. As for me and my family, we will choose the Lord. I hope you all make the same decision. I know Keith did and because of it, he is in the arms of Jesus for all eternity.
Our prayers for the family go out to you all. May God hold you close.
