David W. Bridewell, age 64, passed away on Thursday, October 20 at his home in Winter Park, FL. He was born on February 20, 1952 in Memphis, TN to Edward William and Mary (Gaffney) Bridewell. David enjoyed playing tennis, swimming, fishing, hiking and spending time with his family. David was known for his great sense of humor and generous spirit, and for making friends with complete strangers. David worked in commercial lending and sales, and was also very involved with his community through the church, St. Margaret Mary, as well as the local Rotary chapter, the YMCA, the Winter Park Library, and Lighthouse. The Rotary Club of Winter Park recognized David this year as the Rotarian of the Year, for his tireless work for the international countries of Haiti and Costa Rica. He is survived by his wife, Margoth; his three children, Christopher, Jessica and Steven; his five grandchildren; as well as his sister Donna Nevraumont, and his brother Dr. Bruce Bridewell.
The funeral mass will be held in the chapel of St Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, FL on November 3rd at 4pm.

One of my oldest memories of David was when he sang in the chorus in High School. His favorite song was Swing low, sweet chariot. I just listened to it again. It made me cry again. God bless you, old friend.

Dave has been a good friend of mine since we met at an Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce event in about 2010. We shared a common faith in God through Jesus Christ, and participated in a men's Bible study group together over several years. I was also a friend of Dave's uncle (another David Bridewell) when I lived in Illinois in the 1990s. Both David Bridewells were men of great character, good humor, and love and compassion for others. My prayers are with his beloved family, Margoth, Christopher, Jessica, and Steven (and their children). While we mourn this temporary separation, we can rejoice that Dave lived his life so well, courageously, and in Godly faith, and has now been welcomed home by God.
