Obituary
Evelyn Elizabeth Preston, 92, passed away on July 10, 2017. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the youngest child of John and Edith Dellmuth, on January 28, 1925. She moved to Port Orange, Florida with her husband in 1976, from Springfield, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing, during WWII she served in the Cadet Nursing Corp as part of her nurse’s training. She retired after 55 years as a registered nurse, working in emergency room nursing as well as in nursing homes. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Port Orange, where she served 10 years in charge of the food pantry ministry, as well as a member of the Episcopal Church Women. She is survived by her four children, David R. Preston, Jr. (Kathryn), Havertown, PA, Evelyn P. Lavoie (Eugene), South Daytona, Clifford L. Preston (Debra), Edgewater, and Robin L. Tascione, Clifton Heights, PA, her nine grandchildren, and her seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, David R. Preston, Sr., her parents, her 5 siblings and her son-in-law. In lieu of flowers, it was Evelyn’s request that donations be made to Grace Episcopal Church, Food Pantry. A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 4110 S. Ridgewood Ave., Port Orange, FL on August 9, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
