Obituary

Jose Manuel Soto Rivera, 75, of Orlando, Florida passed away at Florida Hospital Orlando on February 20, 2017. He was surrounded by his family who loved him dearly when he passed to be with our Lord and Savior. He worked as a carpenter for 50 years in New York City before retiring to Orlando Florida in 2009. He was a man of faith, a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his mother Teresa Rivera Soto, his younger siblings Reynaldo, Manolo & Carmen Soto. He is also survived by his wife of 47 years, Sara Rosario Soto, his 5 children: Joseph & Vanessa Soto, Arlene & Luis Duran Quiros, Olga & Pedro Garcia, Ruben & Sara Ostolaza and Tony & Teresita Medina. He is survived by 11 grandchildren: Jessica, Stephanie, Pedro, Ruben Elliot, Mateo Titan, Madison Belle, Miranda Lee, Alexis, Joseph, Christina, Andrew Arthur, Christopher Jacob and Ruben James. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren: Brandon Jasper, Brianna Jade, Arcadius Jade, Mable Gia, Lillyanna Marie and Gabriel James.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will take place on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 6pm and will be held at Faith Assembly of God, 9307 Curry Ford Road Orlando FL.

Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.

My father worked with his hands all his life, he was a carpenter. I was always fascinated by the coarseness and strength that his hands possessed. Even in retirement, his hands still displayed the work that he had done throughout his life.

My father is resting eternally now in the presence of Almighty God. He is no longer heavy laden with sickness and disease, he is whole and has received his healing.

Now that my Dad is gone the lives of his children and grandchildren will continue to display the work that he began.

Thank you Dad for your legacy of faith, love, labor, respect, honor and diligence to God and your family. I love you and am so proud of the man that you are and you knew because I told you often. Rest in peace.

I thank God for giving me such an amazing man as a father on this earth, God knew exactly what I needed.
