Obituary

MARGARET ROGERS SHEARON (1942 – 2017) was born in Ft. Myers, Florida, and graduated from Coral Gables High School, Purdue University, Harvard University, and Nova Southeastern University.

Margaret’s career occupations included positions as a college professor, college administrator, and professional trainer in the fields of business administration and management.

Margaret retired from the State of Florida, DOR Office of Professional Development, as a Training and Research Manager in 2005, and moved with her husband, Martin Veiner, to Ocala, Florida.

Surviving immediate relatives are Martin Veiner, Ocala, Bernard & Sharon Shearon, Dallas TX, Blane & Cathleen Shearon, Wash DC, Jennifer & Scott Auer, Mableton GA, Maureen Shearon, Dallas TX; and David & Xia Veiner, Spring Hill FL, Kent & Laurie Veiner, Sunrise FL, and Craig & Aymee Veiner, Miami, FL. There are six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren,

After retiring in 2005, Margaret enjoyed traveling with her husband via boat and RV, spending time in Maine in the summer, and Key Largo during the winter, and visiting friends and relatives from New England to Florida.

Margaret belonged to several clubs at On Top Of The World, a dance club being one of her favorite hobbies/special interests, including the League of Women Voters, and Pirates On The Water (Key Largo). She was a life-long sister of Chi Beta of Chi Omega, and supported several charities (MSABC). Her most enjoyable time was spent in those sports connected with the water or the ocean.

Margaret died on April 7, 2017, after a long battle with complications from diabetes and end stage renal failure. In spite of pain and suffering, she remained optimistic about the human condition and the capacity for it to change for the better. Ever the optimist that felt the glass was always half-full!

Donations may be made to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC), Team Margaret, American Cancer Society, Oakland Hills Professional Center, 13940 US Hwy 441, Bldg 200, Suite 205, Lady Lake, FL 32159, or by calling 352-350-2273. Martin, so sorry to learn of Margaret's passing. Saundra and I treasured your friendship when we lived in Tallahassee. Those long Dog walks and time on the boat and later RVing. Our Deepest Sympathy is extended to you and the Family. Rest In Peace Margaret.
    Respectfully,
    Perry and Saundra Turner
