Obituary

Mary Virginia “Jenny” Warnock, 88, of Ocala, Fl., died peacefully at her home and went to be with Jesus on March 17, 2017.

 

The funeral service will be held at the chapel of the Ocala West United Methodist Church on Saturday March 25, 2017 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Michael Sims officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home.

 

Jenny Sceals was born at home in Waycross, Ga on May 17, 1928, and graduated from Waycross High in 1946. She and her husband Bill Warnock were married on December 20, 1946 in Waycross, and recently celebrated their 70th anniversary with their family here in Ocala.

 

Jenny worked as a phone company operator while Bill attended Georgia Tech in Atlanta, and after his graduation in 1951 they settled in Smyrna, Ga and began their family. After her children left home Jenny began a Children’s Day Care Center and later went to work for the Cobb County School system.  They both retired to Lake Weir in Ocklawaha in 1986, and later moved to Oak Run in Ocala 17 years ago when she joined the Ocala West UMC. Jenny also worked as a volunteer for the Ocala and Munroe Regional Hospitals, and she and Bill were both volunteers with the local Meals on Wheels program.

 

Jenny is survived by husband Bill Warnock, and sons Bill Warnock, Jr. and wife Becky of Tulsa, OK, and Bob Warnock and wife Holly of Bishop, Ga; grandchildren Trey Warnock and wife Daniela of Cumming, Ga, Brad Warnock and wife Kim of Eatonton, Ga, Rebecca Warnock Friend and husband Stephen of Grayson, Ga, Tyler Warnock and wife Jamie of Sunnyvale, Ca, Parker Warnock and wife Brittany of Jefferson, Ga, Leslie Warnock of Chattanooga, TN, Nolan Warnock of East Nashville, TN, and Whitney Warnock of Spokane Valley, WA;  great-grandchildren Anabella Warnock of Cumming, Ga and Callen Warnock of Eatonton, Ga., and numerous other loving nieces and nephews of the family.

 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to the Legacy House Hospice of Ocala (352-291-5100). The family wishes to thank Pastor Sims and the Ocala West UMC for their loving support of Jenny during the last few months of her life.

    I offer my deepest sympathy upon the loss of your dear Jenny, and I wish you every comfort possible. Childhood memories of our wonderful times together at Lake Weir swell inside. They were very special times with very special people that I will never be forget.
