Obituary

On Monday, July 16, Patricia Govoni, 75, passed away peacefully under the care of Hospice of Marion County. Pat was born to Walter and Mary Wrobel on July 2, 1943 in Fall River, MA. After graduating from Durfee High School, Pat attended Bridgewater State College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 1965. Soon after, she would get her Master’s Degree in Education. Pat then went on to teach 5th grade in Carver, MA for 27 years. Upon retirement, she and her husband, Steve, moved to Florida. She loved to play cards, travel (especially to see her grandchildren), read mystery novels and was an avid Boston sports fan. Pat is survived by her loving husband Stephen of 53 years, 2 daughters Laurie Govoni and Wendy Woods of Massachusetts, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, her brother Ray Wrobel and sister-in-law Dottie, many extended family members and many wonderful friends in The Villages and Massachusetts. Private family services will be held in Massachusetts later this summer. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Pat’s name to Hospice of Marion County’s Ted and Diane Brandley House.

Dear Steve, Laurie, and Wendy. I am so sorry to hear of your wife's/mother's passing. I have thought of her so many times in the last few weeks. I actually left a message, somewhere in Florida, that I had hoped may have been Pat's residence. I wanted her to accompany me on a tour of the old Governor John Carver School, right before it was to be torn down, and a new one built next to it. Pat was a wonderful friend and mentor to me for over 16 years. Everyone hoped to get "Mrs. Govoni" for fifth grade. She will be missed by all that knew her beautiful face and spirit. Take care, Ellen Green
