Obituary

Robert (Bob) Bakowski, 69, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Bob was born on January 22, 1947 in Queens, NY. Bob proudly served in the Army with an honorable discharge and his final resting place will be the South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida.
Bob retired after 42 years from Stimpson Company as a Production Supervisor in 2012. Upon retirement, Bob fulfilled his dream and moved to Lady Lake, Fl to enjoy life to the fullest. Bob was an avid member of the Mechanical Minds Car Club, attending car shows and proudly displaying his 1980 Chevy El Camino, with many remembering the working train village he created in the bed of his El Camino. He was the Villages Cruise-In Peoples Choice award winner in 2013, 2014, and 2015 and was already working on his Christmas display for 2016. Bob also met Anne Feiner during his retirement and was the perfect partner to enjoy all the things Bob loved so much.
While his love for cars was endless, it did not compare to the love he had for his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Bob would drive down to see his kids and grandchildren often. He would either be cheering on his granddaughters at the soccer and flag football fields, boating with his sons, or chilling in the pool at his daughter’s home.
His granddaughters, Mia, Tayler and Lauren, will always remember the summer vacations with their Grandpa. He would pack the girls into the car and head up to the North Carolina mountains, just him and the girls, taking them to some of his favorite places. His granddaughters adored spending time with him and learning about the cars that Bob loved so much.
Bob was a wonderful man, who was loved by everyone who met him. He had a laugh that was contagious, a heart that warmed those around him, and a zest for life that inspired many. Despite the immeasurable loss that his family has with his passing, we will always take comfort that Bob retired exactly how he wanted, had the cars and the motorcycles he had always dreamed of, and made sure that his family knew exactly how much he loved them.
He is survived by his 4 children Robert (Jennifer) Bakowski, Lisa (Bryan) Ciervo, Johnathan Bakowski, and Paul Bakowski and his 3 granddaughters Mia, Tayler and Lauren. Bob also leaves behind his Brother (and roommate) Walter Bakowski, and his nieces Kiersten, Julia, Laura.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 22nd, 2016 starting at 2:30pm at the home of a fellow car enthusiast at: 8241 SE 135th Street Summerfield, Fl. 34491.
