Obituary
Salvatore Calandra, 87, of Silver Springs, FL passed away June 15, 2017. Born in New York City, he came to this area in 1973. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, retired draftsman and a member of St. Joseph of the Forest, Catholic Church Mission. He is survived by his children, Lucia London of Avon, CO and Joseph Calandra of Punta Gorda, FL; grandchildren, Chris (Maria) Calandra of Boca Raton, FL, Bradley (Caitlyn) Calandra of Longmont, CO, Amy London of Port Orange, FL and James London of Jacksonville, FL; great grandchildren, Nathaniel and Abigail; sister-in-law, Ginny Keller of Silver Springs, FL; step-son, Eric Freeman of Louisiana; father-in-law, Charlie Haight and several nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gilda Calandra and his second wife, Jane Haight. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph of the Forest, Catholic Church Mission (17301 E. Hwy 40, Silver Springs) on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 10AM. He will be interred at Ocklawaha Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date to be determined.
