Obituary
William R. Vernon (Bill), 80, of Ocala passed away July 27, 2016. Born in Washington, D.C. he came to Florida in 1989 from Long Beach, MS. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, a retired Equipment Management Specialist for the Department of Defense and most recently was a Security Guard for the Dr. Qumar/Institute of Cardiovascular Excellence, Ocala. Bill enjoyed his grandchildren and caring for his dogs. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Peggy Vernon; children, Karena (Joey) Vernon-Flournoy of Orange Park, FL and James (Kelly) Vernon of Belleview, FL; grandchildren, Ryan, Reagan, Adam Vernon and Angelica Krause and daughter-in-law, Betty (Mike) Vernon-Zysek of Ocala. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Joseph and Dennis Vernon. He will be interred with military honors at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at a later date.
