Obituary

Perry Earl Pittman, Sr., 88, peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on November 2, 2025. He was born on May 19, 1937, in Borger, Texas, and raised in Vidalia, Louisiana, where he graduated from Vidalia High School before entering the United States Air Force and serving four years.

Following his service, Perry built a successful career as a Construction Superintendent, traveling throughout the South before settling in the Dallas area to raise his family. His final role before retirement was as a Project Manager — a position that reflected his strong work ethic, leadership, and attention to detail.

Perry was a member of Denton Bible Church in Denton, Texas, where he and his beloved wife, Carol, volunteered their time and energy. Together they also served with the Frisco Library and Quinlan Food Ministries. For five years, they traveled in their camper, exploring new places and embracing the joy of life’s adventures.

In 2020, Perry and Carol retired to The Villages in Florida, where they enjoyed an active life filled with friendship, community, and service.

Perry will be remembered most for his kind and gentle heart. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome — always ready with a smile, a kind word, and a helping hand. He loved deeply, gave freely, and brought laughter wherever he went. He was truly the life of the party, full of joy, humor, and endless love for his family and friends.

He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and a true history buff who loved sharing stories and little-known facts. He was also a talented cook who loved preparing Cajun dishes like jambalaya, gumbo, and étouffée. Perry loved to entertain, filling his home with food, laughter, and the people he cherished most. During his younger years, he also enjoyed motocross racing with his son, a pastime that brought the family together and created lasting memories filled with fun and pride.

Family meant everything to him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather — lovingly known as “Papaw” by all the littles.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Pittman; sister Louise Cater; sister-in-law Ann Bodenstine; and his three children: Perry Pittman and wife Stacey, Tina McWilliams, and Lisa Noell; He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Breana, Meghan, August, Aubrey, and Samantha; and ten great-grandchildren: Haylee, Blakely, Jordy, Callie, Wade, Charlotte, Larkin, Harper, Cooper, and Olivia.

Perry also loved music and could often be found playing his harmonica to make others smile. He had a special place in his heart for animals and rescued five dogs throughout his life — each one a cherished companion.

Perry’s kindness, humor, and gentle spirit will be remembered forever. His legacy of love and laughter lives on through his family and the many lives he touched along the way.

A Celebration of Perry’s extraordinary life will be held at Baldwin Brothers – Wildwood on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 10:30 – 12:30.  In lieu of flowers please donate to the Day-Break Club of The Villages in Perry’s Memory.

Perry, or Sonny as we called him was my 1st cousin. I never got to spend much time with him because he was 13 years older than me but the little I was around him I remember his generosity. When I was a senior in high school my dad was in the hospital in another city and my mother had our only car as she was staying with my dad. I couldn’t go to my senior prom because I didn’t have a vehicle and when Sonny found out he loaned me his new car that he absolutely loved so I couldn’t take my girlfriend to the prom. He did threaten me with death if I got a scratch on it but I’ll always remember his generosity. Rest in peace cousin and I’ll see you one day!
