Obituary
Our dear mother Mary Vaughn passed peacefully yesterday (11/3/25) at 102 years of age after having lived a wonderful and blessed life.
She enjoyed a loving 64-year marriage to our father, Carl Vaughn (d. 2010), and bore and raised the two of us. Growing up in Cincinnati, OH, she graduated from Withrow High School, entered Christ Hospital School of Nursing, volunteered for the WWII Cadet Nurse Corps and was transferred to Vanderbilt University to complete her training. After graduation she worked most of her life as an RN until she retired from her final post as Night Supervisor of Nurses at Huntsville (AL) Hospital.
Her life was enriched by 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, whom she dearly loved, and by extended-family members on both the Vaughn and Leslie sides of family. She enjoyed reading and needle work and loved and enjoyed extensive travel in the U.S. and many other countries.
She loved, and was loved by, many and will be dearly missed – especially by us.
