Obituary

Ramona Thompson, born June 18, 1947, in Alexandria, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, in Dry Ridge, Kentucky, at the age of 78.

Ramona was the cherished daughter of the late William and Mary Weber and the devoted wife of the late Jack Thompson. She and Jack shared a beautiful life together, eventually retiring to Sun City Center, Florida, where they spent their days enjoying the sunshine, simple pleasures, and the quiet comfort of each other’s company.

Those who knew Ramona will remember her gentle heart, steady strength, and love for life’s quieter moments. She found happiness in swimming, caring for animals, and offering kindness in ways that often spoke louder than words. Her compassion was genuine, and her warmth touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Recently, Ramona returned to Kentucky to be closer to her family, a choice that brought closeness, support, and meaningful time together. Her family will forever hold gratitude for the moments shared with her during this chapter.

Ramona is survived by her children: Kenneth Glassmeyer and his wife Cathy; Gina Sorg and her husband David; Douglas Glassmeyer and his wife Fran; and her stepson Tony Holmes and his wife Jeni. She took great pride in her grandchildren—Olivia Sorg, Dylan Sorg, Lillian Glassmeyer, Liam Glassmeyer, Gianna Glassmeyer, and Emyrson Glassmeyer—each one a source of joy in her life.

A private celebration of Ramona’s life will be held for her immediate family. In honor of her deep love for animals, donations to your local animal shelter are appreciated in lieu of flowers.

May Ramona’s memory bring comfort, peace, and lasting warmth to all who loved her.

Ramona was a very kind and conscientious woman and always did right by me. I have fond memories of my younger days playing Euchre with the family at the kitchen table. I feel like it was just yesterday, yet it was over 30 years ago. Rest easy Ramona.
