Joan B. (Simms) Weber, 85, passed peacefully into Heaven on October 31, 2023, in Ormond Beach, FL.  Joan was born to Ted and Emily (Tokarz) Simms on January 12, 1938.

In 1960, she married her loving husband, William Weber at St Mary’s Catholic Church in McHenry, IL.  Joan and Bill began raising their five children in McHenry before moving to Park Ridge, IL.  Joan was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and a wonderful elementary school teacher.  She spent many years as a second-grade teacher at Mary Seat of Wisdom in Park Ridge, loved by her students and their parents. After retirement, Joan and Bill moved back to McHenry but enjoyed being snowbirds in Florida. Wherever she lived, this smart and independent woman cultivated many long-lasting friendships.

Joan is survived by her husband Bill of Ormond Beach, FL; five children: Ted (Carla) Weber of Ormond Beach, FL; Barb Oglesby of Derby, KS; Tom (Patty) Weber of Itasca, IL; Joe (Lucy) Weber of Kirkland, WA; Bob (Mary Ann) Weber of South Bend, IN; brother Rich (Roberta) Simms of Crystal Lake, IL; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Her funeral will be held at St Mary’s Catholic Church in McHenry IL on Tuesday, November 14. Viewing will begin at 10:30am with Mass at 11:00am.  A memorial has been established with Halifax Health Hospice in Ormond Beach, FL.
