Obituary

Master Chief Petty Officer Bonnie S. Creamer. 83, passed away peacefully after a short Illness in Orlando, Florida on June 8, 2024. She was born in Rosiclare, Illinois on August 2, 1940 to Mr. Obe Jule Creamer and Mayme Katherine Sneed Creamer.
Master Chief Creamer graduated from Zion -Benton High School in 1958 and attended Illinois State University for two years, she enlisted in the United States Navy in 1960 completing Recruit Training Command (RTC) Bainbridge, Maryland. After graduation, she went to Air Traffic Control “A” School in Naval Air Technical Training Center in Olathe, Kansas. Following graduation. she was assigned to Air Traffic Control Center at Naval Air Station Alameda, California. In 1963, Master Chief Creamer attended Air Traffic Control “B” School in Naval Air Technical Training Center Glynco, Georgia with subsequent tours at Air Traffic Control facility Naval Air Station Norfolk, Virginia and Air Traffic Control Facility Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida. While at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Master Chief Creamer was selected as the Naval Air Station Pensacola’s Sailor of the Year for 1973.
In 1974, Master Chief Creamer reported to RTC Orlando where she served as a Company Commander and Battalion Adjutant. During this tour, she received the Navy Leagues Captain Winifred Quick Collins Award for Inspirational Leadership.
Master Chief Creamer’s 30 year Naval career was highlighted by tours at Air Traffic Control Facility Naval Station Keflavik, Iceland and Instructor Basic Course in Norfolk, Virginia where she was awarded the William O. Florstedt Award for outstanding performance.
In 1978, Master Chief Creamer became the Leading Chief Petty Officer for Air Traffic Control “A” School at Naval Air Technical Training Center Memphis, Tennessee. In October 1983, she was reassigned to RTC Orlando where she served as Company Commander, Leading Chief Petty Officer of the Technical Training Department.
Master Chief Creamer’s personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal with gold star and the Navy Achievement Medal with two gold stars.
Master Chief Creamer is survived by her spouse, Theresa Trahan, her brother, John Creamer and his wife, Annette, her sister Rhonda Neville and her husband, Chris, and her sister, Jamy Patterson.
Additionally, survived by her Best Friend of 60+ years Annette Charest and dozens of Cousins, Nephews, Nieces, Great Nephews and Nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Obe and Mayme Creamer and her sister, Sharon Loesch.
Instead of a viewing, a Celebration of Her Life will be at a later date.
