Obituary

Nelson Rene Puerto, a lifelong serigraph union printer and devoted family man, passed away on July 11th, 2024, at the age of 96. He was born on August 3rd, 1927, in Santa Clara, Las Villas, Cuba, to Victorio and America Puerto.

Nelson spent his working life as a serigraph union printer, retiring after many years of dedication to his craft. In his free time, he enjoyed walking, debating politics, and watching action movies. He was a man of strong convictions and a quick wit, always ready with a clever quip or insightful argument.

Predeceased by his parents, Nelson is survived by his loving wife of many years, Aida Puerto, age 83. He is also survived by his two children, Norma Puerto age 57 and David Puerto age 50; daughter-in-law Heidei Rozo age 50; grandchildren Ariana Puerto age 19 and Brianna Puerto age 14.

A funeral service will be held at Baldwin Brothers, located at 290 Nicholas Pkwy NW, Unit# 19, Cape Coral FL 33991 on July 22nd, 2024 from 1:00 PM EST to 3:00 PM EST. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Nelson’s life.
