Obituary

Timothy J. Conroy of Port Orange, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at the age of 85.

He was the loving husband of Patricia (Parslow) Conroy. Tim was born in Jersey City, NJ on April 16, 1939, and was the eldest son of the late Aloysius Walter “Ben” and Loreta “Laura” (Catraccia) Conroy and was a graduate of Georgetown High School in 1957 and later Merrimack college.  Tim spent the majority of his successful career in sales working for Software International, MA and Profit Key, NH.

For all of us who knew Tim, he was larger than life, full of passion and commitment and was often referred to as “The Senator” for his ability to speak with anyone, anywhere and at any time. He truly enjoyed every step of the journey. Family was his priority, and his dedication touched not only his loving wife, but each of his children, grand and great grandchildren, siblings, in-laws and many nieces and nephews.  He will be deeply missed, but his life, love and guidance will remain with us forever.

Along with his wife Pat, Tim leaves behind three wonderful sons, three daughters-in-law, a stepson, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, each one forever touched by his presence.  He was an accomplished basketball, baseball and football player during his youth and time spent at Georgetown High School.  As a young man, he served proudly in the army and continued to prioritize his love of country throughout his life.  He was incredibly proud of his Italian heritage often mixing Italian into his everyday conversations or teaching his family words they could use to communicate between them.  He was a fantastic cook with a specialty in Italian dishes that all would love!  Tim later developed a true passion for golf and loved that his family followed in his footsteps.   As an avid golfer, he was a member of his home golf course at Cranes Lake.  He would love to discuss his golf game or a “hole well played” with anyone who shared this mutual love of the game.  One of his most favorite times was organizing an annual golf tournament with friends and family on his beloved home course in Florida.  He would often reminisce of these special times spent sharing his favorite “Italian” meals with family and friends and simply being together. Whatever his passions were, he pursued them to the fullest.

Tim was an animal lover and truly adored and fondly spoke of the companionship he had with his many dogs throughout his life, especially Beau and Smokey who he lost prior to his own passing.  He loved to cook, play cards, solve puzzles and was a lifelong fan of the NY Giants.  He enjoyed many years spent in Naples, ME on Sebago Lake making numerous memories with family and friends.  His family times spent together on the lake will forever be missed.

Tim is survived by his wife, Patricia of Port Orange, FL, Sons Timothy Jr. (Denise) of Hampstead, NH, John, (Terri) of Auburn, NH, Chistopher (Shayla) of Windham, NH and his Stepson Sean O’Keefe and his partner Karen of Andover, VT.  His grandchildren, Lauren Allen (Jeremy) of Londonderry, NH, Sean Conroy (Nicole) of Quincy, MA, Aidan and Declan Conroy of Auburn, Emma and Mila Conroy of Windham, NH, Adelaide and Liam O’Keefe of Monroe, NY and great granddaughters, Rosalie and Juliette (Allen) of Londonderry, NH.  His brother Walter (Dona) Conroy, his brother-in-law Anthony Divencenzo and sister-in-law Jean Conroy.  Tim was predeceased by his brother Joseph Conroy and sister Eileen Divencenzo.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date and memorial contributions can be made to a favorite animal shelter in his memory or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
