Charles Herbert Clark

Charles Herbert Clark, age 93, passed away on November 18, 2021 after a short illness.

Born and raised in Sarver, Pennsylvania, he was the youngest and last surviving of 11 children born to Forest W. Clark and Florence Ray Clark. Chuck married the love of his life, Phyllisfae Grafton Clark in 1947. She preceded him in death in 2015 after 67 1/2 years of marriage.

Chuck was an avid hunter. He had a hunting camp in Tionesta, Pennsylvania and traveled to Wyoming for several years to hunt wild game.  Chuck was a member of the Armstrong Lodge # 239, AASR Valley of New Castle, and the Syria Shriners.

Chuck worked at US Steel for over 30 years. After the mill closed, he and Phyllis fulfilled their lifelong dream and moved to Port Orange, Florida.  While in Florida he worked at Mannheim Auto Auction for over 10 years. He also loved NASCAR and worked at the Daytona International Speedway for many years.

Chuck and Phyllis were strong believers and attended the Port Orange Church of the Nazarene where they were very active members.

After Phyllis’ death he move to Ocala, Florida to be closer to his daughter.  He enjoyed his last several years living in an apartment at Canterfield of Ocala Assisted Living, where he died. Everyone there loved him for his humor and kindness.  It was also where he took up painting and was a consistent winner at bingo much to the chagrin of other residents. He loved his family and enjoyed seeing and talking with them over Facetime.

He will be greatly missed.  He is survived by his 3 children, Kathleen Clark Gingery (JK), Charles K Clark (Melinda) and Candice Clark Fennell (Daniel). He also leaves 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are entrusted to Redmond’s Funeral Home 524 High Street, Freeport, Pennsylvania.  Viewings will be on December 3, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-8 pm.  Celebration of Life services will be held at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery, 104 Melwood Road, New Kensington, Pennsylvania, and will be led by Pastor Janis Bracken on December 4, 2021 at 10am.
