Obituary

Jackie Lee Copeland, 80, Melbourne FL. passed away July 24, 2020, from a long battle with Parkinson disease. Jackie was born 4-24-40 in Hanging Limb Overton County, Tennessee. He was the son of Ruby Garret (Hayes) and step father, Lawrence Hayes. Both proceeded him in death They moved to Augusta Mi. in the late 40’s where Jackie was raised with his sisters Patricia and Priscilla Copeland. Augusta Mi is where he met his first wife, Darlene Perry. They married and had three children. Erick Scot Copeland, Erin Copeland (deceased) and Errol Copeland. Jackie spent 30 years and retired from GM (FISHER BODY) in Comstock, Mi, and a 32 degree mason and a PAST Master Mendon Lodge #137 & Member Eastern Star Chapter 154. In the early 90’s Jackie and Darlene ended their marriage. Jackie spent much of his time from then on in South Haven on his boat. That is where he met Christine who became his wife in 2012 and she has been by his side every minute up until his passing. Jackie is survived by two sisters Patricia Kilburn (James Kilburn) and Priscilla Buckholz. Two sons Erick Scot Copeland (Delina Copeland), Errol Copeland, three grand children. Cody Seevers, Brady Copeland and Taigen Copeland and one great grandchild, Riley Seevers.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Michigan.

    My condolences to the Copeland family. Jackie will be missed. I enjoyed all the times we spent together. Happy that my sister had Jackie to share life with.
