Obituary

GERALD JACOB LUPINSKI
June 11, 1936 – October 29, 2020

Gerald “Jerry” J. Lupinski of New Smyrna Beach passed away on Thursday, October 29 after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, who he married on June 30, 1962 in Utica, NY.

Born in Herkimer, NY on June 11, 1936, Jerry was the son of the late Jacob & Josephine Lupinski. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University in 1957. He began his career that same year with New York Telephone. His various positions within the company would relocate him numerous times until he retired as District Manager at AT&T in Orlando, FL in 1994, ending a 37-year career.

Jerry was a devoted provider for his family and true sports enthusiast. He spent many seasons coaching his sons’ Little League teams, continued to play golf up until just a few months before his death and was frequently found in front of the TV watching a golf tournament or cheering on his favorite teams. He had a strong moral compass, high principles and provided the foundation that would lead to his own children’s success in life. He had a great sense of humor and was often the life of the party. After his retirement, he was fortunate to travel extensively and especially enjoyed cruising.

He was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in New Smyrna Beach and in recent years dedicated a great deal of his time as President of his condo association in Sea Woods.

Jerry was very proud of his family. In addition to his wife, Rosemary, he is survived by his 4 children, Debbie (Bill) Clements, Gary (Melissa) Lupinski, Greg Lupinski and Cindy (Larry) Koelsch as well as his grandchildren Mikayla, Olivia, Jackie, Adam and Kimberly. He is also survived by his sister Carol (Marvin) Peters and numerous extended family members.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 14 at 11am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in New Smyrna Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation in Jerry’s honor to your favorite charity.
