Obituary

Allan P. Wadman, 84, of The Villages, FL, formerly of Enfield, CT, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2021. Born in Melrose, MA, June 3, 1936, to Dorothy and Homer Wadman, both deceased, he grew up in Andover, MA, graduating from Punchard High School, Andover, in 1955. He was an accomplished athlete in football, basketball and track, earning the school’s Outstanding Athlete Award. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving for 4 1/2 years. Relocating to Enfield, CT in 1965, he was employed as a service technician for 3M and Lanier, and resided there for 37 years before retiring to The Villages, FL. While in Enfield, he was a member of the Enfield Volunteer Fire Department, coached Little League baseball and refereed youth ice hockey games. In later years he enjoyed travelling by motor home, and was the CT State Director for the Good Sam Club for many years. After moving to The Villages, he rekindled his love for golf, and was very active at St. George Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth, daughters Susan and her husband Tom Hayes of The Villages, and Sandra Miller and her husband John Benchoff of Gloucester, MA, granddaughters Chelsea Miller of Boston, MA and Hayley Miller of Denver, CO, and brother Paul Wadman of Wildwood, FL.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021, at 11:00 AM at St. George Episcopal Church, 1250 Paige Place, The Villages, FL 32159 with interment following in the Church Memorial Garden. Memorials to the church’s Memorial Fund may be sent to the church at the above address.
