Obituary
Wayne Rogers Godwin of Sarasota, Florida was born February 28, 1955 and passed away unexpectedly on October 10, 2022, age 67. Wayne was married to the love of his life and business partner Sheryl for 33 years. He was the father of Christina Cox of Georgia and Tim Cox of North Carolina. Loving grandfather of Gabriel and Destinee Defriece and Jaren Bailey of Georgia. Wayne is also survived by his brother David (Jane) Godwin of North Carolina. He was the favorite uncle of many nieces and nephews. Wayne was the owner and operator of Godwin Associates for 35 years, making many lifelong friends and business associates in the process.
Wayne loved Florida with its sunshine, the outdoors and especially his and Sheryl’s pickleball group of friends. He enjoyed classic cars, deep sea fishing and walking their Maltese dogs. He was a kind and loving man, treating everyone he met with respect, always willing to lend a helping hand to others. By his wishes, Wayne’s legacy as a loving, giving, compassionate person will continue as he has donated his organs through LifeLink so that others can have the gift of good health.
Arrangements were entrusted to Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home. There will be a Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.
Our deepest condolences to you Sheryl and the entire Godwin family.
We are praying for you and your family.
Sorry so for your loss.

He was a caring , thoughtful man. He treated everyone with respect and enjoyed the success of friends and their families.
Wayne mentored younger people in the candy industry. He also showed a deep respect for older sales people and buyers who had retired years ago. Staying in touch with them and surely enriching their days.
Wayne was one of the good guys. So full of life it is hard to grasp that he is gone. My wife Joan and I send our deepest condolences to Sheryl. This has had to be the hardest week of your life.
We will think of Wayne often and are truly grateful we had him in our lives.
Sorry so for your loss.
