Obituary

Frank left us abruptly but his wake is soft and slow as we cherish the memories of his intellectual humor, childhood passion for Yankees baseball and his creative outlet of cooking. Frank’s wife Laurie Arbogast, son Michael Ilchisin, and daughter Lisa MacClements were at his side in his last moments.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Ben and Chloe MacClements and son-in-law Scott MacClements of Fairlawn, NJ.

He is preceded in death by his brother Dennis Ilchisin, parents Frank Ilchisin, Sr. and Mildred Malensky Ilchisin of Ridgewood, NJ where he attended Ridgewood High, met his first wife Suzanne Alstrom; and, formed a brotherhood of lifelong friends.

After a career in sales and marketing Frank and Laurie retired to The Villages and found a neighborhood of warm, caring people.  The friends and camraderie of softball was the highlight of his life from the first pitch to the laughs over beer. This Boat Rocks was his dragon boat team; pickleball filled in the gaps of his weekly exercise. The ROMEOS provided what Frank called “yuck ’em ups” each week at lunch.

Although 75, Frank’s “forever young” attitude will live in our memory. Per Frank’s request, his remains will rest forever off of the Jersey Shore. Memorial event to be determined.

Still in shock from Franks untimely passing. I had the privilege of getting to know Frank when we played softball
He was a terrific guy always had a smile on his face and a story or two.
It is truly a sad day and he will be missed but never forgotten
    May he Rest In Peace

Dianne and I were shocked to learn of Frank's passing. Frank and I played on the same softball team for a number of seasons and he was a great shortstop and latter a 3rd baseman. Frank seemed to always be in a good mood and was great to spend time with. We enjoyed having Frank and Laurie join us at a tiny Italian Deli near the villages that served a special dinner every Saturday night. It was a great night with good food and many laughs. We also enjoyed comparing travel notes with Frank and Laurie especially concerning safaris in Africa. Frank will be missed by his many Softball buddies in the villages. Our thoughts, prayers and love are with Laurie and the family at this time. Jack and Dianne Zalewski
