Obituary
Ada M. Cooper, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her home on February 21, 2023 in
Lady Lake, Florida. Born June 27, 1927, in Long island City, the fourth of six children born to Italian
immigrants, Rocco and Maria Anastasio. She graduated from Central High School of Needle Trades (which later became High School of Fashion
Industries) in 1945 as an accomplished seamstress. Ada married in 1949 and lived in Astoria, NY before
settling into her beloved home in Bayside NY. She was employed as a waitress by Harry M. Stevens from 1970 until she retired in 1998. Ada worked at
the Diamond Club at Shea Stadium, Yankee Stadium, Nassau Coliseum, Aqueduct and Belmont Race
Tracks, as well as other numerous catering venues. She moved to Brookfield, CT in 1997 and lived there
until 2017, when she moved to The Villages, Florida. Ada will be remembered as a passionate individual who enjoyed laughing, painting, drawing, listening to
music, travelling, watching Yankee baseball, vintage Hollywood movies, bingo and spending time with
her family. She will be missed and remembered with an abundance of love by all who knew her, and is survived by
her three children, James Cooper (E. Fairfield, Vermont), Robert Cooper (The Villages, Florida), Donna
Panettiere (Bethel, CT/The Villages, FL), her younger brother, Michael Anastasio, five grandchildren and
four great grandchildren. A memorial will be held in CT on June 24, 2023.
