Obituary

Adrienne Lee Jenkins

June 11, 1936-October 18, 2022

Adrienne Lee Jenkins, aged 86, went home to be with her Savior, Jesus, on October 18, 2022, following an extended illness. Her beloved husband Byron was at her side, and family members were able to visit at her bedside during her last days.

Adrienne Lee Hogue was born in Lorain, Ohio, the youngest of four children to Mildred L. and Clarke A. Hogue. She attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, but left early to help fill the shortage of school teachers at the time. Later, she was able to graduate with a degree in education while also raising four children. With some teaching experience in Athens County, she returned to the University to complete a Master’s degree in education. Adrienne later relocated to Cape Coral, where she worked for Lee County Schools as a school guidance counselor. After retiring, she participated in civic activities in Cape Coral.

Adrienne was passionate about children and teaching. She loved her family, books and reading, and music, especially the old hymns. She had a sharp, intellectual mind, combined with compassion for those less fortunate than herself and a zest for life. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Byron, her daughters, and her extended family.

Adrienne is survived by her husband of forty-two years, Byron; daughters, Kimberly (Tom) Isner, Galena, Ohio; Melissa Pennell, Athens, Ohio; Jacqueline Brown, Athens, Ohio; Jennifer (Jeff) Adolphs, Sunbury, Ohio; five grandchildren – Chase, Rachael, Sam, Christopher, and Monica; and seven great-granchildren.

A memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society.
