    I'm not sure what area you are speaking about salcificpley on the Marietta/Smyrna area, but the area I live in does not seem to be ghetto, nor have I seen it looking ghetto nearby (nothing like I've seen in parts of the actual city of Atlanta). I'd understand if you were talking about the Franklin Road, Fairground Road or Delk Road area of Marietta though.
