Obituary
Alan Harris Singer 73 of Casselberry, FL passed away peacefully on April 5th surrounded by his loved ones after a brief battle with cancer. Alan was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 10, 1949 to Frank and Marcia Singer. In 1962 the family moved to Oakwood Staten Island where he graduated New Dorp High School, at the age of 16 as an Honors student. Alan attended Long Island University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. After graduation, Alan moved to Miami, Fl where he worked as a Pulmonary Technician at Palmetto General Hospital. In 1994 Alan moved to Orlando and started his tool company ALSING tools, his small business that he would eventually retire from.
Alan’s life was full of adventures, he skied in the Adirondack mountains and scuba dived in the Florida keys, snowmobiled in Alaska and rode 4 wheelers in the Ocotillo desert in California. His biggest adventure was raising his daughters. His three girls were his first and foremost priority. He took them all across America, road trips to Washington DC and New York to see the old neighborhood, Hawaii to give one away and Michigan another. During his later days he fulfilled his life long dream of living the life of Riley, his weekly poker games, and telling a joke to anyone that would listen. Filling his time between a good series on TV or a football or baseball (Go Mets) game lounging in his recliner with a little cat nap. The highlight of his years were the annual trips he would take to see his daughters that had moved out of town and his Wednesday night dinners with his youngest and her family who still live near by.
Alan is survived by his three daughters Amanda Phelps [Jack] of Paul’s Valley Ok, Carrie Stone [Mike] of Fife Lake, Mi, and Allison Swenson [ Gina ] of Mount Dora Fl. His brothers Edmund Singer [Rochelle]of Staten Island, Ny and Ronald Singer [Emili] of Delray, Fl. ; 3 nephews, 1 niece, 10 grand children and 1 great grandchild, Alan was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Marcia Singer.
