Obituary
Mr. Albert Field Currier, 91, a resident of Bonita Springs, passed peacefully just before noon Wednesday, February 8, 2023. He left this life in the comfort of his residence, surrounded by his beloved family.
Born on Thursday, October 15, 1931 in Westtown, New York, he was the last surviving of ten children to the late Clarence Willard and Elsie Mae (Smith) Currier. He was educated in Orange County, New York.
Following his formal education, Mr. Currier proudly served our country with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, earning the rank of Petty Officer Second Class at the time of his Honorable Discharge from military duties.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Currier was self-employed as a barber for over 40 years in Middletown, New York. Mr. Currier was an active member of his community in Middletown. He was a volunteer member of the McQuoid’s Fire Department. He served as city police commissioner and was a director and coach of the Pop Warner Football League. Fraternally, he also held membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in New York.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Marie Theresa Grosso Currier on September 17, 2000. At the time of her passing, the couple shared forty-nine years of married life together, raising three wonderful children. He was also preceded by his second wife, the former Carolyn Smith Currier on February 9, 2012, as well as his nine siblings.
Left to cherish the wonderful memories they keep of their father are his children, Dale Currier and his wife Kim of South Carolina; daughters, Jodi Lynn Currier and Joni Lee Franck, both of Middletown, New York; Four Grandchildren; Four Great-Grandchildren; Two step-daughters; Four step-grandchildren; Six step great-grandchildren; Two step great-great grandchildren; His beloved companion, Darlene Almon; Numerous nieces, nephews, former patrons and dear friends from both Middletown and Leisure Time Park in Florida.
Per his previous wishes, funeral services for Mr. Currier will be held at the convenience of his family in Middletown, New York. Final interment will be held in Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery, Cottage Street, Middletown, New York.
