Obituary
Albert Peter Grimsley, age 59, died of natural causes on August 13, 2023, in Oak Hill, Florida.
He is survived by: His children, Candice Grimsley, Jessica Grimsley and Anthony Grimsley and his grandchildren Kimber and Anson, his sister Cherry, niece Michelle, nephew Kenny, brother David, nephew Joshua, brother Ricky, sister-in-law Pamela, niece Tiffany, nephew Zachary. He is preceded in death by his son Albert Charles Grimsley, then his parents Henry and Eleanor and his brother Jonathan Matthew Grimsley.
Albert was born on December 29, 1963, to Henry Lee Grimsley and Eleanor Elizabeth Defore Grimsley. He was the 4th child of 5 children. He graduated in 1983 from Warner Robins High School. He was a dedicated football player as well as an enthusiastic wrestler.
During his high school years, he met the love of his life and the woman he would choose to give life to his beloved children, Teresa (Terri) Marie Anderson. In 1985 they were wed and in 1986, they welcomed their first precious daughter, Candice, and the road to parenting began. After suffering the terrible loss of his son in 1988, he and his wife brought two more wonderfully precious children into the world. In 1989, beautiful Jessica and 1992, adventurous Anthony. Although he and his wife’s life were full and abundant with love and laughter from their children, they decided it would be best to dissolve their marriage. He welcomed his first granddaughter, Kimber in 2019 and first grandson, Anson in 2021. To the very end he remained a caring and loving father and grandfather.
Albert was an extremely talkative person, who never met a stranger. He was a blue-collar man, through and through! He had experience doing so many things, all of which required him to learn and adapt to new things. He was a long and short haul truck driver, concrete truck driver, tanker truck driver, heavy equipment operator and much more!
He had a few great loves in his life, but none compared to his dogs. He is preceded in death by his most favorite trio, Pandora, Electra and Gypsy. He has now been reunited with them and will show his son, who was waiting for him, how wonderful those dogs are.
There will be a memorial on what would have been his 60th birthday, December 29, 2023. It will be located at Dauset Nature Trails, Atrium Room located at 360 Mt Vernon Church Rd. Jackson, GA 30233 from 12pm-3pm.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that any monetary donations be submitted to a college fund for his grandchildren paypal.me/akmommie or donate food, toys or your time to your local pet shelter in honor of the animals that meant so much to him.
