Obituary
Alexander William Young was born March 5, 1987, in Brandon, Florida, and was an amazingly beautiful baby boy welcomed by an excited family. He was named after his two grandfathers, Pyron Alexander Jr. and William Young. A lifelong Floridian, his cities of residence were Brandon, DeLand, Edgewater and New Smyrna Beach. He attended New Smyrna Beach High School and eventually earned his GED. He was a jack of all trades and the hardest worker ever. Alex’s loves were being outdoors, skateboarding, surfing, fishing, bike riding, and hanging out with his friends.
Underlying Alex’s trials and tribulations was his character of unique sweetness and generosity of heart. He would have sincerely thanked those relatives who showed up for him in his time of need at the hospital: Mom and stepdad Gayle and Steven Droullard of Stanley, Iowa; sisters Jennifer Backer of Denver, Colorado, and Sarah Young of Austin, Texas; and uncles Michael, Stephen, Timothy and Frank Alexander. He would have also been grateful for the phone calls and texts from many more family members, and for the support and concern of friend Dave Herring. Thanks also to Pastor Phil Rownd and the congregation of Stanley Union Church for their heartfelt prayers.
Let it be said that AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach and Orlando put forth their greatest effort to save Alex’s life. Alex passed away peacefully on April 30 in the arms of his mother, and he is now in the loving arms of our Lord in Heaven.
Alex will be missed and loved forever.
