Lee was a classy guy. I had the pleasure of accompanying him in four different churches: St. George’s Episcopal, The Villages; St. Thomas Episcopal, Eustis; St. Timothy Catholic, the Villages; and Gloria Dei Lutheran, Leesburg. He performed arias from Handel’s Messiah on the Euphonium, as well as the Lord’s Prayer by Mallotte. In particular, I can remember him taking “Rejoice Greatly, O Daughter of Zion” at such a speed that it was difficult to keep up with him! Charlotte was always available to listen in different parts of the church to give us her opinion. What nice, talented people! They will be sorely missed.
