Alfred William Padykula, 82, New Smyrna Beach FL died Thursday, July 11, 2013.
Al was born to Adam and Julia (nee Krason) Padykula in Chicopee, Massachusetts. He served our nation in the US Marine Corps in Korea where he earned a Purple Heart and was a retired Deputy Agent for the Veteran’s Administration. He came to this area in 1990 from Chicopee, MA and was a member of St Peter the Fisherman Episcopal Church New Smyrna Beach. His family remembered his love for vacations and spending time with and especially cooking for them.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Claudette Claire, children Peter Padykula of Deland, FL, Doreen and Steven Villemaire of Chicopee, MA, grandchildren Tammy and Dennis Spencer of Springfield, MA, Tara and Harry Brandt and the love of Popi’s life great grandson Maxwell Brandt of Chicopee.
Memorial donations are requested in his memory to Hospice of Volusia Flagler 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange FL 32119 or Oceanview Nursing Home 4110 S Atlantic Avenue New Smyrna Beach FL 32169.
The family would like to specially thank the staff and administration of Oceanview Nursing Home and Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia for their care for Al.
Committal services will be 10:30AM Mondy, July 22 at St Peter the Fisherman Episcopal Church with Military Honors.
