Obituary

Alice E (Aubin) Machowksi February 21, 1925 – October 10, 2011, Resident of Port Orange, FL since retiring the early 1980’s.  Alice passed away peacefully at Halifax Hospice in Edgewater. Alice was born and raised in Pawtucket, RI.   Alice was the seventh of nine children born to the late Alice (Rheaume) and Armand Aubin. She was the beloved wife of John W. Machowki Sr. for 36 years. She is survived by her sister Shirley Provost of S. Attleboro, MA and her two sons: John ‘Jack’ of Port Orange, FL and Robert ‘Bob’ of Scituate, RI. She leaves behind five grandchildren: Lisa Mosley of Seattle, WA; Bobby of Scituate, RI; Steven of St. Petersburg, FL; David of Cartersville, GA; and Michelle Tsirovasiles of Manchester, CT. She is also survived by three great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and countless friends who were blessed to know her.   Alice loved having fun and making people laugh wherever she was. A stranger was never a stranger for long; she had the innate ability to strike up a conversation with anyone within ear shot. Alice was well-loved as a foster grandmother to the children at Spruce Creek Elementary School. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a volunteer at the Red Hatters. She will be greatly missed.   A Memorial Mass will be said in Alice Machowski’s name on February 21, 2012 at the Catholic Church of the Epiphany in Port Orange, FL 32127. Alice’s final resting place with be with her beloved husband in Pawtucket, RI at the Notre Dame Cemetery.      A Memorial Mass will be said in Alice Machowski’s name on February 21, 2012 at the Catholic Church of the Epiphany in Port Orange, FL 32127.
