Alicia Helen Kimmerle
Alicia Helen Kimmerle, aged 80, passed away at home on November 27, 2017 in Port Orange, Florida after a long battle with a Parkinson’s type disease. Alicia was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on September 17, 1937 to Kenneth and Helen Irish, both deceased. Alicia has one Sister, Barbara Ridnour, who resides in Moline, Illinois.
Alicia is survived by two daughters, Kristi Crudup and Shelly Fradet, and five grandchildren; Matthew Zemel, Kellie and Jessica Greene, and Emily and Andrew Fradet. Alicia’s husband, Harry, and her eldest daughter, Sheryl Greene, preceded her in death.
Alicia was a beautiful and spirited nursing student when she met her husband in Independence, Iowa. They married in 1958 in Toledo, Iowa. Alicia was a hardworking and dedicated Registered Nurse who worked in Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and lastly, Florida. The loving care she gave her patients over the years demonstrated her commitment and passion for helping others. Later in life, she changed careers and became a successful real estate agent working with her husband Harry in the business they founded in Lighthouse Point, Florida. In 1999, Alicia and Harry sold their business and semi-retired in Port Orange, Florida.
Alicia was a loving wife, mother, friend, and was known as “Gammy” to all her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She loved to travel, in particular to her favorite destination, Las Vegas, which she and Harry visited at least one or two times per year, especially to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays. Alicia and Harry shared 58 wonderful years together. Alicia was dedicated to her family and was very involved with her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with friends playing cards and sharing a bottle of wine. She celebrated life, as we celebrate her. Alicia will be dearly missed and her vivacious personality will never be forgotten.
