Allen L. Scheel of the Villages, FL passed away July 20, 2021. His family was by his side as he went home to be with the Lord.
Born February 12, 1957 in West Chester Pa, Allen lived most of his adult life in Delaware. He joined the Delaware Air National Guard in January 1975 and retired in July 2015 as a Senior Master Sergeant.
Allen spent most of his 40 year career as a C-130 Aircraft Loadmaster, serving in support of Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom as well as numerous other deployments around the world. His last 7 years he was supervisor of Emergency Management, assisting where needed during emergencies in Delaware.
Allen and his wife, Carol, were members of Middletown Baptist Church, Middletown, Delaware.
Allen and Carol moved to the Villages, Florida in 2013. In retirement Allen enjoyed playing softball, tennis and golfing. He loved to go camping and his favorite pastime was fishing. He enjoyed hanging out with his family and close friends. He also enjoyed figuring out how to fix things and was always willing to lend a helping hand when asked.
Surviving are his mother, Susan Scheel; his wife, Carol; his son, Brandon of Norfolk, VA; his daughter Carina (Mark) Lasko of Nashville, TN; grandsons, Brandon Jr,, Wyatt, Christian, Jeremy and Teddy; brothers, Bruce (Michelle); and Paul (George); sisters Sharon Celli; Beth (Tom) Taylor; and Cindy (Denis) Liddy; and several nieces and nephews.
Allen will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery (Bushnell). Funeral services will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held August 20th from 4:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at LaHacienda Recreation Center, 1200 Avenida Central, The Villages, FL
