Obituary

Aloha LaReda Johnson, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 86 in Ormond Beach, Florida on October 2, 2022.  Aloha was born on February 19, 1936, in Bridgeport, Alabama.  She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything and enjoyed spending time with family. Aloha retired from Volusia County Road & Bridge where she was an administrative assistant.  She loved having a unique name, but only visited Hawaii once in her life.  Aloha, in Hawaiian, means hello, goodbye, and I love you.  She embodied love with her entire heart and spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Clara Cooper; brother, William Davis; sister, Jamie Cooper; and daughter, Judy Johnson.

Aloha is survived by her daughters, Sheila Thompson, of Daytona Beach, Jean Sherlock (Anthony) of Okeechobee; son, Jack Johnson, Jr. of Berryville, Texas; granddaughters, Melissa Chancey Gee of Daytona Beach, Clara Hammond (Mike) of Stafford, Virginia; grandsons, Richard Mahlum of Daytona Beach, Jordan Thompson of Daytona Beach, Anthony Sherlock of Okeechobee; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and brother, James Cooper of Thonotosassa, Florida.

A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 pm on October 17 at Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society, 1185 W. Granada Boulevard, Ormond Beach, Florida.
