Born May 10, 1928 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to the late Frank and Violet (Schoenberger) Schleinz, he enlisted in the Armed Forces in 1946 where he was the proud recipient of the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal while serving in Japan. After selling their business, Central Illinois Bandag, Al and Mary Ann relocated from Pekin IL to Ft. Al enjoyed attending the 11:15 Sunday mass at St. John XXIII up until a year ago when a fall and subsequent health problems relocated him to Discovery Village at the Forum, assisted living in Ft. Al’s positive attitude throughout his life was an example for all.
