Ann Ferrara, 79, of Port Orange, Florida, died early Friday morning, May 24th, 2019, with her family by her side. Born on February 17th, 1940 in Midland, Pennsylvania, to Daniel and Audrey Baich, she had an older sister named Janice.
After attending Midland High School, Ann graduated nursing school in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, in 1961, becoming licensed as a practical nurse. She went to work for Rochester Hospital.
In February of 1966, during a trip to Detroit, Michigan, Ann met her soulmate, Robert Ferrara. They married on October 8th, 1966. A year later, Ann gave birth to a daughter, Tracey on September 19th, 1967. Two years later to the day, she gave birth to another daughter, Lisa on September 19th, 1969. A third daughter, Deborah, followed on August 9th, 1971.
In 1993, Robert and Ann moved to Port Orange, Florida, and always a close family, their children followed. In approximately 2006, Ann was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, a form of dementia similar to Alzheimer’s Disease.
Ann leaves behind her husband, Robert Ferrara, her children, Tracey (Glenn) Lopez, Deborah (James Herrin, fiancé), son in law, Jim Daly, and five grandchildren, Amy (Casey) Mauldin, Dylan Hills, Jordan Hills, Liam Daly and Jillian Daly. She is preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Ferrara-Daly, her parents, Daniel and Audrey Baich and her sister, Janice Noah.
A memorial service honoring Ann’s memory will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1st, 2019 at the Atlantic Coast Church, located at 1212 Conrad Drive, New Smyrna Beach. The church is located one block north of the New Smyrna Beach Airport, off of North Dixie Freeway.
