Obituary
Ann Lee Ivey
On June 18, 2020, our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Sister and Friend departed this world to be with God and her loved ones in Heaven. She lived a long life, but not always an easy one. Born in rural Tampa, Florida in 1930, Ann was part of a large and loving family, but endured many hardships over the course of her life. However, her life was not without joy, and it is with joy, tinged with sadness, that we commit her to God’s care.
Ann was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Brooks, her second husband James Ivey, her unborn daughter Rachel Ivey, son David Brooks, and by siblings Jewell (Cercy) Hyde, Grace (Cercy) Turner, Julian Cercy and Charles Cercy.
She is survived by sons Donald Brooks of Port Orange, Florida, (along with former wife and care-giver Pat Brooks and her son Craig McGray) and Joseph Ivey (and wife Patty) of Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Also, grandchildren Russell Brooks, Jennifer Brooks and Jessica Ivey-Murphy. She is survived by siblings Linda (Cercy) Coleman of Mount Dora, Florida, and James Cercy of Orlando, Florida, as well as by many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the staff of VITAS of Volusia County, Florida for the years of wonderful care provided to Ann. A private family service will be scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ann’s memory to the women’s shelter of your choice.
