I am writing with tears in my eyes. Ann was the Director of Mountain Pathways, a school I attended in Boone, NC. I had so many heart to heart chats with Ann as a preteen in her office. Her soft accent, kind smile, and wise words meant so much to me. How many people can say that they had such a personal relationship and great admiration for their school principal? That's how they all should be. She was a shoulder to cry on and a friend to every child, with a twinkle in her eye and a ready laugh. This is very sad news indeed. I thought of her just recently and wish I could have seen her one more time. Rest in peace, Dr. Norwood.

I never got to meet Ann face to face, but I sought her advice many times on how to best direct what will always be HER school, Mountain Pathways in Boone, NC. Her efforts way back in 1987 and the years following laid a foundation on which our community was built. Thank you Dr. Norwood.

I haven't seen Ann since our teen years in N. Andover but I remember a generous, devoted and caring friend.
Ann's life is certainly and example of dedication and compassion to all.
I am saddened to learn of her loss.
