Obituary

Anna Stephanie Mileski of Palm Coast, FL, passed away on February 3, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Ignacy and Anna C. (Becmer) Mileski and is also predeceased by her sister, Phyllis M. Mileski, and Ann’s beloved dog, Idle. Ann grew up in Lyndhurst, NJ and began working with Prudential Insurance Company in Newark, transferring to Boston when the Pru opened their Northeastern Home Office in 1964. She retired as an Assistant Vice President of Sales and Marketing, enjoying a career spanning 38 years and resulting in many lifetime friendships. She lived in Everett and Melrose, MA for many years, then in North Conway, NH after her retirement. Seeking a warmer climate, Ann settled in Palm Coast, Florida and has lived here for the last 19 years.

Ann is survived by her dearest and best friend of 60 years, Lorraine (Marsh) Losanno, her husband John, and their children, Ann’s “kids,” Lorrie (Losanno) Murphy (her goddaughter) and her husband Dan, Ryan Losanno and his wife Maria, and her “grandkids,” Samantha Murphy, and Jordan, Alexandra, & Theodore Losanno.

Ann is also survived by her dear cousin, Barbara (Goworek) Intindola (and her late husband John) and their children, Kim (Intindola) Marich, her husband Robert, and son Ethan; John Intindola (her godson), his wife, Jamie and children Payton, Alex and Luke; and Donna (Intindola) Deville, her husband Kevin and children, Spencer and Alexandria. Ann and Barbara both settled in Palm Coast and watched out for each other along the way.

Ann leaves behind many friends, including Barbara (Marsh) Clark, her husband Steve, and their children, Adam (Tricia) and Patrick (Lauren), and grandchildren who all thought of Ann as “Auntie.” Also, her good friend, Connie (MacFaden) Barnes of Cottontown, TN. Ann loved her frequent gatherings with Prudential friends who settled in Florida and will be greatly missed by them and the many other friends she stayed in touch with or met through the years.

Ann had many titles: Ann, or Annie by her friends, Auntie by her “kids,” Babci by her “grandkids” and Steph or Stephanie by her cousins. She was grateful for all the people in her life and never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She was a lover of cooking, coffee, chocolate, cigarettes, reading, and the beautiful sun. Ann loved spending time with her family and friends; she was thoughtful, loyal, generous, and kind. She always had a story for everything and one-liners that made everyone laugh. Ann valued her relationships and made many friends along the way. If you knew her, you should consider yourself blessed!

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 1185 W. Granada Blvd, Unit 11, Ormond Beach FL 32174. Steffie as she was known to the family, was always quick with a one liner or funny comment to enhance any get together. My family spent many Holidays and vacation time with her over the last 20 years. The kids always took the Holiday picture with Steffie on the couch. We will definitely miss her at all the family gatherings. She has been a constant presence in our lives and we will miss her terribly.

Stephanie, as we knew her in the family because her mom was ‘Ann’, was ‘a character’ (as another write said and meant in the best possible way) and was known as the wild and funny cousin of my moms. Her independent spirit and zest for life were noticeable and admirable even as a kid as I observed her in comparison with my mom, Stephanie’s sister and other relatives who were a little more ‘buttoned up’. Stephanie worked for Prudential and so did her sister Phyllis. When I graduated I ended up at Prudential myself and Stephanie and I connected there professionally.

I am so glad we got to spend time with Stephanie and Barbara just a while back in Florida. We were there for a sad occasion but seeing family and sharing old family stories with the younger generation (and eating Barbara’s great repast) and laughing a lot brightened our spirits.

It is sad to see more of our family pass on. My mom held the mantle of ‘matriarch’ of the family for some years and when she passed that passed to Stephanie. Now Barbara has that designation. I hope she holds that title for many, many more years.

My lifetime girlfriend, Anna Stephanie Mileski, was a treasured friend for 78 years. While in Lyndhurst, NJ we lived down the block from each other, went to Kindegarten and graduated high school together. When we turned 16 Ann and I went on the Public Service bus #102 to the Prudential Insurance Company in Newark, NJ to apply for jobs and we were both hired !!! When I got married, Ann was my Maid of Honor. Ann went on to be a successful part of the Prudential Insurance Company in Massachusettes but we always kept in touch, never forgetting our birthdays, holidays or important news. When my husband passed Ann called to invite me to Cancun but I was so distraught at the time I just couldn't go which I regret to this day. I know Ann's life bloomed when she moved from Lyndhurst but her early years was spent with Joanne Bush and I ... we were inseparable!!! I know Ann is now in heaven ... she can be nowhere else. I will miss her cards, notes and calls but I know we will be together again when God calls Joanne and me... and it will be the best reunion ever!!!

Very saddened to learn of Ann’s passing. Many happy memories from years ago during the Prudential years that still bring a smile to my face. Rest in Peace Ann! See you on the other side!

I met Annie 40 years ago at Prudential. We actually did not like each other. I was in awe of her reputation as a strong woman in the insurance industry and she didn’t want anything to do with a 22 year old novice. At the pleading of a VP who asked her to buy me a drink at poolside at a conference, we became best friends. We traveled all over the Caribbean on vacations but my best memories are in N. Conway NH. We had too many good times to mention. She walked me down the aisle at my wedding in FL and was beautiful in a gown that matched her gorgeous eyes. She was my rock. Sassy, hysterically funny, incredibly smart, adventurous and completely loving of her family and friends. My Annie, we will meet again. I love you so very much.
