Obituary

Ann R. Wolfe, 77, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Ann was born September 3,1946 to Kenneth and Elizabeth McCauley in Clintonville, Wisconsin and spent her childhood in Bay City, Michigan, before eventually residing in Westland and Howell, Michigan. She married Thomas Wolfe on April 2, 1971. In her retirement years, she found joy and community in The Villages, Florida.

Ann was the beloved mother of Tracie Wolfe and Scott Wolfe (Stephanie), Grandmother to Eric, Jeremy, and Annalise Wolfe. She is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Vendley and Maureen Ersek, many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Ann was preceded in death by husband, Thomas Wolfe in 2009, sisters Kathleen McCauley and Mary Hurley, brother Michael McCauley and parents Elizabeth and Kenneth McCauley.

Ann devoted her career to the Head Start program, where she excelled in technical administration, focusing on database and technology management. Her work was instrumental in supporting the program and the county, helping to ensure that families in need received the assistance they required.

Ann was loved by everyone she met, and she loved everyone she met. She loved to laugh and brought joy to those around her. Ann was a true “diamond girl,” dedicating herself as a lifelong #1 fan of Neil Diamond. She was also a proud “Parrothead,” embracing the Margaritaville lifestyle as a devoted Jimmy Buffett fan. Her love for music knew no bounds; she adored singing along to her favorite songs or playing the air harmonica with enthusiasm.

Ann’s spirit will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her, as she leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Words really can’t even express how much my Auntie Ann means to me…she gave me my closest cousin, Tracie❤️we were born in the same hospital 3 days apart. My mom and Ann close friends and sister in lawsand I can tell you that both of them share the gift of love, humor and laughter in all situations!!!! They passed that gift on to their kids. What I’ll always remember is Aunt Ann calling me Shanny❤️ singing and playing the air harmonica…non stop laughs. Ann was such a good story teller too.. she made you feel like you were apart of it bc you could just visualize it all and of course laughing was involved!!!! The Wolfe family Christmas gathering every Christmas Eve…Almost 25 years of Taco Girl Weekends together. Aunts, Sisters, nieces, daughters, moms and cousins❤️❤️ so many memories together and just happy to say we had the best one ever this past July forever in our hearts with love and laughter…always your Shanny and you will always be my Auntie Ann ❤️rest easy in Gods arms with Uncle Tom..together again❤️

What a beautiful tribute to one of the kindest, funnest, considerate, compassionate person I've ever met. I have so many memories of Ann. From the Island parties, New Years at her house, singing into makeshift microphones, hanging out at her Lake Chemung home until 2am talking about anything and everything, to our vacation stays with her in her places in The Villages. She was so very proud of her kids and grandkids, I loved listening to her talk about them, beaming with joy!
I remember her laugh, we had just gone to see a comedian while in FL this past March with her.
She was up for anything! Loved the music in the squares and riding around in her golf cart & the 'block party' started in neighboring driveway to get everyone together!
She was great at including others and a perfect host.
Ann, I love you my friend! I'll remember you forever.

Happy birthday Mom. It feels so intrusive to go through all your things. Yet, it also feels comforting and special to find how much you savored the important things (All the special cards you saved over the years and notes that seemed so insignificant at the time). Reading letters between you and Dad and how much you were in love with each other feels so incredibly comforting and a blessing that I had you for parents. You are and always will be my very best friend and I know that I haven’t even yet begun to realize the hole left in my life without you here. I love you so much. I am your daughter and am reminded of you when I look In the mirror, say something you would have said, laugh at a memory or time we had fun together and all the things that come with a special bond that can never be replaced. I will see you and Dad again one day and
know you will both be waiting with open arms. ❤️
