Anulya! I miss you so much and can hear your voice and laughter. We always laughed so much. You’ve been a great friend and supporter, life is so much darker without you. You’re the reason I discovered NY when you invited me to stay with you back when we were only 19-20. I owe you so many fun memories since I met you at 16 or 17. Making our favorite “kartoshka” desert. Going on a picnic with your family. Learning about music from your Mom and Dad.
Rest in peace, my dear friend.

Anna I will miss you beyond words. You were my best friend and neighbor. I admired your selfishness, patience and kindness. Whenever I would get stuck with my homework and you were always there for me. Thank you. ❤️

Over the course of some 20 years, we met at drum retreats and music festivals, and kept in touch on social media. Your joyous approach to life, creative spirit, and many talents, always inspired me.

Just like in the movie "Life Is Beautiful," the harsh truth is intertwined with death and hope. Unfortunately, my cousin and I grew up far from each other, only meeting a couple of times when we were children. Family stories are not always beautiful and inspiring, but there are always opportunities to overcome them with wisdom and kindness.
One day, Anulya found me on a social network, and since then, we exchanged letters, messages, and eventually phone calls. Our last conversation was on Thanksgiving Day: I told her that I was sorry that fate had stolen so much time from us and that I was very happy and glad to have her in my life. She told me that she was also very happy and glad to have found me, and we both held onto the hope of seeing each other next year.
We made plans involving wine and ham, filled with humor, and I was amazed to see my cousin's incredible vitality, although I understood the enormous cost of maintaining such inner strength. Then came the message from Roman, her husband. And sadness filled the month of December.
I will continue to keep your number in my contact list. Sometimes, I go through your messages and photos. Talking about death doesn't make much sense; I prefer to talk about the hope that a person always leaves when they do something great. Your daughter and her husband know that it is the love of a wife and a mother that will always be with them—an unbreakable and eternal love.
Thank you, Anulya, for finding me and sharing your smile, your wisdom, your humor, and the feeling of forming a great family together on the road to reunion. I will never forget you. RIP.

Anna was not only one of the most intelligent, outgoing and accepting people I know but she was a determined, hard working individual who had cared for everyone and every animal she came across. I had personal talks with her where she helped me sort out my thoughts and I have silly moments of being in her house with Halana(Linka). I will cherish them for as long as I live.

I trust that wherever you are, there is laughter and shenanigans. I went out in the cold with no socks on, in memory of you! And I made the dog groomer promise to save the fur for me whenever he grooms a suitable dog. Come haunt me in the spring, while I spin it.

Dearest Anoush, You are the finest friend a person could wish for, and your leaving left a giant hole in my heart and in my life. I’m blessed and grateful for all we shared. There are no words nor space here to describe the many shades and colors of our rambling conversations and jokes, so I’ll just say: thank you. You’re in my heart, and you’re part of me now. Until we meet again, with so much love, Reba
