Obituary
Anna Veronika Uhouse (nee Toth), 87, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, the first day of Advent. She was born on July 8th, 1938, in Kopóscpati, Hungary, and immigrated to the United States as an infant arriving at Ellis Island on January 2nd, 1939, aboard the Franconia. She grew up in Carteret, NJ, later living in Middletown and Toms River before moving to Florida. Anna proudly became a U.S. citizen on May 17th, 2007. She was the daughter of the late Magdolna (Magda) and Joseph Toth. She is survived by her brother, Joseph Toth (Geri), and nephews Joseph and Stephen. Anna was predeceased by her husband, William S. Uhouse Jr., whom she married on October 5th, 1958. Anna is survived by her children, Kimberly Uhouse, Tracy Ottman (Stan) and William “Butch” Uhouse III (Sandra); and her grandchildren Peter Miceli, Taylor Murphy, William “Billy” Uhouse IV, and Robert “Bobby” Uhouse. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and the Berkley School of Secretaries, and worked for many years at Brookdale Community College, where she was proud to retire with a full pension. A woman of deep Catholic faith, Anna remained devoted to daily prayer and Mass will be celebrated. Isten veled, drága lélek. God be with you, dear soul. In lieu of flowers, Anna has requested donations be made to Saint Mary’s of Middletown, NJ. A memorial mass will be held at 10AM on Monday, December 15th 2025, at Saint Mary, Mother of God Church, 19 Cherry Tree Farm Road, Middletown, NJ 07738.
