Obituary

Anthony “Tony” Miller, age 77, of New Smyrna Beach, Fl., died Jan. 1, 2023 with his family by his side. Born in Superior, Wis., on Jan. 4, 1945, Tony was the son of LeRoy and Katherine Miller.

Tony graduated in 1963 from Central High School in Superior, Wis., and later joined the U.S. Navy, where he was stationed in Panama for two years. He married Mary Weeks on Feb. 24, 1968 at Cathedral of Christ the King Church in Superior. Tony worked as a service manager for RCA for most of his career. He retired from RCA after 24 years.

Tony was a family man and a lifelong fisherman who loved electronics, especially computers, and he could fix almost anything. Always quick with a laugh, a handshake, and a story, Tony loved to help others when they needed it.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bill, and his brother-in-law Roger Weeks.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; daughters Angela Miller and Stacia Streisel (Jim); grandsons Jared and Zachary Streisel; brother Dean (Mary Jo); step-sister Penny McGrath (Pat); step-mother Arloine Miller; and sister-in-law Joy Miller.

    Coming from a blended family, I was blessed with 3 older siblings. Bill, Tony, and Penny were always good to the little guy. The 3 boys shared a bedroom in our small house, and I can still hear my mom trying to wake Tony up in the morning. Usually the first 2 attempts were unsuccesful, but as moms voice grew louder and sterner, Tony knew it was time to get up. I always wondered if he still liked to sleep in. One of my biggest regrets in life was the fact that Tony, Mary and the girls always lived so far away. As I became older and started my own family, our visits were far too infrequent. However, when I had my own health emergency 3 years ago, the first call I got was from Tony. We stayed in contact from then on. Tony would call often, usually on his way to the VFW to play darts, and we would catch up. We never hung up without telling each other we loved them. The last time I saw Tony was at my brother Bill's funeral. I can still remember how miserable he was being back in the cold of Minnesota. He couldn't wait to get back to Florida and to Mary. I really wish I could see him one more time. I hope he knows how much I loved him, and looked up to him. Rest in peace Tony. I LOVE YA BROTHER

    I loved my Uncle Tony and am going to miss him! I used to see him more when I was younger but we always stayed in touch and will miss our texting chats. God Bless and Rest In Peace Uncle Tony
