Anthony Thomas DiNizo, Sr., “Poppy”, 83, of New Smyrna Beach, Fl., joined our heavenly Father, Monday, January 28, 2013 surrounded by his beloved family. Tony was born in Scotch Plains, New Jersey where he grew up and began his career as a principal in DiNizo Brothers Builders. In 1963, he and wife Marilyn, “Gammie”, moved to Grand Bahama Island where they established Luxury Builders; a building and development business. He relocated his family and business to New Smyrna, and “retired” in 1993. His family remembers his love and devotion to his faith and family, his travels to the North Carolina Mountains and Biloxi, his passion for cooking and taste for Italian food, love for sports, especially football, and playing (winning) bridge with his wife and dear friends. Tony was an avid golfer and member of Sugar Mill Country Club for over 25 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory his childhood sweetheart and wife of 63 years Marilyn, children Deborah Eberlin and Darlene Schriedel, both of New Smyrna Beach, and Anthony DiNizo, Jr. and wife Cindy of Ormond Beach, brothers Paul and Phillip DiNizo, sisters Lina DiNizo, Emma Miller, Jean West, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many beautiful nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Fillipo and Antionette, brothers baby Anthony and Frank, nephew Phillip and niece Cindy.
