Obituary

Anthony “Tony” Savastano Jr., 78, of Ft. McCoy, FL passed away peacefully at Cate’s House in Ocala, FL on October 30, 2024 after a short illness.
Born December 12, 1945 in Manhattan, NY, Tony was the eldest son of Anthony & Sara (Lounsbury) Savastano.
Tony proudly served in the US Navy from 1964 to 1968, when he was honorably discharged.
He was a retired member of Steamfitters Local 638 of NYC.
He was a member of American Legion Post #347 in Lady Lake, and Ocala Forest Moose Lodge #2535 in Ocklawaha, FL.
Tony loved listening and dancing to music, especially Doo-wop (50’s & 60’s), Gospel, Bluegrass, & Country, but Elvis was always his favorite. He enjoyed going to music festivals and riding his ATV & Jeep on the trails of the National Forest. He also loved riding his Tryke (motorcycle) with his friends from the Moose Riders and neighbors.
Tony’s family and friends will remember him as a man who loved deeply, loved to laugh & have a good time, and was ready to try anything once, including parasailing!
Tony is survived by his beloved longtime fiancé Kathleen Evans, son Anthony Savastano III & wife Wendy of Wappingers Falls, NY, daughter Annette Kerstetter & husband Matt of Parkesburg, PA, stepson John Evans of Martinsburg, WV, stepson Kevin Evans of Peekskill, NY, brother Joseph Savastano & wife Christine of Venice, FL, brother Michael Savastano & wife Kathi of Cold Spring, NY, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews, and great-nieces & -nephews, his 4 much loved dogs, and 78 years worth of extended family, friends and neighbors.
Tony was predeceased by his father Anthony Savastano & mother Sara Savastano of Cold Spring, NY, and grandson Joseph J. Lanza of Wappingers Falls, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations are invited to be sent to Hospice of Marion County or Marion County Animal Services.
