Obituary
Arlene Rose McGuire (83), originally from Staten Island, NY, passed away peacefully on her birthday, Sunday November 3, 2024, surrounded by her children.
Arlene was born on November 3, 1941, in Staten Island, NY to Rose Ann Bertola and Arthur Blanchard. She was one of seven children and had a deep affection for her six siblings. As a young lady, Arlene would take the Staten Island Ferry to work in Manhattan. Arlene met and married her husband and love of her life, Robert Joseph McGuire, in Staten Island and was most proud of their 48-year marriage which held numerous adventures, including their move to Florida in 1976.
Arlene spent much of her life raising and caring for her four children and working in the family businesses. She was a creative person who loved art, enjoyed drawing, crafts, sewing clothes, crocheting, reading, and gardening. She instilled in her children a love of learning and a strong drive to be true to yourself. She will be remembered for her love of family, the beach, music, flowers, animals, and her kind and caring heart.
Arlene is survived by her brothers Warren Blanchard and Richard Blanchard, her sister Lynn Weir, her four children Robert McGuire, Laura Holbrook, Todd McGuire and Erin Wood, her six adored grandchildren Ian, Megan, Henry, Emerson, Finley & Isabella, as well as many nieces and nephews and her friends at Lake Ridge Village. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Arlene’s life will be held by her family at a later date.
