Obituary

Arthur Moore Watts, 86, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on December 27, 2017, at The Legacy House in Ocala.  Art was born in New Union, Arkansas to George and Lula Watts on December 4, 1931.  He graduated high school in Strong, Arkansas. Art joined the U.S. Army and served honorably during the Korean War. He received several medals for his service and was proud to be a veteran.  Art worked in engineering for Martin Marietta in Orlando before becoming the first Facilities Manager in Orange County, Florida’s history. Art retired from his position within the County Government after 23 years of service and moved to Ocala where he resided until his death. As an accomplished artist, he was involved in many art clubs throughout the greater Ocala area. Art won several awards over the years from various art competitions. His legacy lives on through his artwork, which can be found scattered throughout the state in government buildings, doctors’ offices, law firms, and private residences.  Art is preceded in death by his father George, mother Lula, sister Elizabeth, daughter Lisa, and grandson John.  Art is survived by his sister Martha, son Kenneth and wife Marie, son Matthew and wife Danielle, grandchildren Tyler, Noah, Jack, Brooke, and Ryan, and close friend Jennifer.  The family of Art wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the hospice staff at The Legacy House for allowing our father to pass comfortably and with dignity.  Celebration of life services will be held January 13, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at Baldwin Brothers Funerals & Cremations, 11250 S.W. 93rd Court Road, Ocala FL, 34481. 352-236-7813
